I've been playing my third run through Apothecaria for several weeks now and it has been the best one so far. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I have fleshed out my character a lot more.
I started thinking about her before I started the game. I gave her a background that has been growing, I gave her a family that still needs more work, I've thought about a possible romantic partner... Merivale has just felt more like a person to me than the other two that I started with (I don't even remember their names).
I also found that writing in third person was easier for me and that I needed a little more than bullet points but I not pages and pages of prose. I found a happy middle for me where I talk about her day, how she meets her new patient and what happens when she goes to look for her ingredients but it's not a minute by minute play of everything she goes through. I'm also quite bad at describing her surroundings so I skip that entirely.
But I started to get FOMO when I saw other people's journals because they sound so much more involved. And when I get FOMO is when I do stupid things that I'll probably leave unfinished.
What I want to do is start publishing Merivale's story on this blog, maybe even a couple more stories of the other RPG's I'm playing as well.
The Merivale story will be in first person, like she is writing a journal. But don't expect me (or her) to describe everything, because I'm really not good at that, so I hope you'll be patient and not expect too much.
I also have to say that the images that I use are AI. I hope you are not put off by that.
